Escape Monthly has sponsored this post, just so you know.
When summer gets too hot and the days seem so so long, thoughts of escape are impossible to avoid.
I catch myself day dreaming of vacations away. Quiet time on the beach with toes in the sand. Camping in remote locations. Time spent with a book all alone. Driving off into the sunset. I’m in introvert, and thoughts of solitude make me so so happy. And that’s part of why I find summer so difficult. I have very little alone time, not much time when my house in quiet or still. And I love my kids, and I love our summer memories, but I also love my Anna time, and I mourn it (just a little) in the summer.
But that’s the beautiful thing about escape. You don’t have to fly to a remote destination or have on a bathing suit to do it. It’s much easier to escape to a warm bubble bath or quiet time with a glass of wine and the sun set. Don’t you think? Escaping, even in a momentary day dream or by doing something simple, like an at-home face mask, can sometimes make all the difference.
So thanks to Escape Monthly for getting that.

My favorite way to escape is by diving into 12 straight episodes of Mad Men on Netflix while scarfing down an obscene amount of ice cream!

Ooo. Sounds heavenly, Steph!
I am trying to find contentment in my life exactly as it is, but I’m also having the same problem of NEVER getting away from my kids. I might have to send my husband out with both of them for dinner just to enjoy this box, but I’d be willing to beg, bribe, or threaten to get an hour where no one expected anything of me. Hook me up, Anna and Escape Monthly!
LOL, Barbie! You totally deserve an hour to your self. Get your hubby on that! STAT!
Coffee and a book somewhere quiet. Or Vegas with my husband.

Vegas is near the top of my bucket list, but coffee and a book is basically my idea of heaven. *sigh*
Anytime I can be by myself with a book is an escape for me.
Yes! Books are the ultimate, simple escape aren’t they? You can go anywhere, do anything in a book. And now I sound like one of those pro-reading commercials.
My favorite way to escape is to grab a book and head to the woods. Some good hiking and reading spot searching, followed by reading against a tree.

I love this idea! I miss the woods. We had them all around the house growing up, but where I am now is more beach-y. A forest is an escape by itself. Thanks for sharing!
I love all the various box services that are out there now! This one… well, Escape sounds perfect after a busy day.
For me though… it’s books. I can read, and read, and read and get totally lost in it.

There is NOTHING better than a really good book. I’m with you, Jackie!
My favorite way to escape is either reading a really good book that takes place far away, or going out for a hike. Paris is good too. 😉

Paris! I love that city, especially getting lost in the Latin Quarter. Oh. Memories. Thanks for sharing!
relax outside on the porch!
We do a lot of porch relaxing over here too. It’s so so nice!
Window shopping by myself, coffee and a book, quiet walks around Balboa Island.

I once edited a book on Balboa Island. Random. I know. It’s so totally beautiful, well the pictures were. I’d love to take a stroll there to escape too!
Coffee in my favorite coffee shop.
Hi Manda. Yes! Coffee and a quiet coffee shop is so nice. I need to schedule time for more outings like that.
I love reading on my kindle whenever I get the chance.
I too am a introvert and I probably mourn the loss of my quiet time a tad too much during the summer months. So I try to grab it where I can. For example, when I take the kids to the library and tuck them in a nice corner (the older gals explore on their own) I go grab my favorite leather, sink into eternity, kind of chair and read my book. This can last quite awhile actually depending on how caught up the kiddos get in their own books! So, not exactly glam, but completely cherished time nevertheless. Visiting from http://www.ritewhileucan.com where I blob about all things stationery or paper inspiration - which is also an escape for me!

I don’t think escaping has to be glamorous. Some days just putting on my pajamas and climbing in bed with a book is all the escape I need. Thanks for visiting!

My favorite way to escape is to drink some tea, turn down the lights, and maybe take a bath.
Baths might be the perfect at-home escape. #dreamingofbubbles

Sorry, commented too soon! My favorite way to escape is to grab a gossip magazine, glass of wine and sit on my patio while my husband takes the girls to the park.
