I’ve been marking and remarking of so many things that I’m so grateful for this month. Everyday there’s something else to acknowledge. Everyday my blessings pile up a little higher. And everyday my heart swells a little more.
I needed a way to move my list of things I’m grateful for from in my head or my phone or even right here, to something physical, something I see all the time, something that was a constant and beautiful reminder.
I cut square scrapbook paper into long thin strips. Punched holes in one end. And tied loops onto each strip with some rough twine. I wrote a different something that I’m grateful for on the white side before I hung them. So that one side makes me happy because of all the lovely colors, and the other side makes me happy because of all the beautiful reminders.
My gratitude garland now hangs above the wide door way between my entryway and the living room. Everyone can see it, I can see it, as soon as I walk through the door, or if I’m sitting to read and just look up.
The best part is, I have plenty of left over blank papers, so I can add more blessings anytime I need to. It’s a great reminder for me and the rest of my family. Because gratitude is always a good lesson to learn.
Tell me. How do you remember to acknowledge all that you have to be grateful for? How do you count your blessings?
