Last summer I did a DIY for Color-block Shoes that is too fabulous not to share again. How can you go wrong with a casual and comfortable shoe that you can customize to match your style and wardrobe? You could paint these shoes to match any outfit, and they’ll feel good on your feet all day long.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- solid colored canvas shoes. I found mine at Wal-Mart, but here’s a pair on Amazon
that would work too. (affiliate link) - craft paint
- paint brush. Stiff bristles would work the best.
Decide how you want to paint your shoes. I used the seams on my shoes at a guide and painted along the lines. It really is that easy. But feel free to mix and match and do what’s unexpected. If you don’t have seams to follow, then you might want to use painter’s tape to mark stripes or a pattern to follow. They’re you’re shoes, and you can decorate them how ever you want. What freedom!
Put on a coat of paint, and let it completely dry before adding another layer. For really bright colors, you’ll need to add several coats. These color-block shoes took 3. Worth waiting for, if you ask me.
