I’m just getting started on this whole new adventure. The sugar withdrawal headaches have started. And I’m craving anything chocolate with amazing ferocity. But I haven’t relented or cheated. And I’ve already lost weight this month. Funny how that happens.
Here’s what my days have been like so far: Day 1 No Sugar for me this month. | Day 2 Cherry tomatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. I had these with grilled flank steak for dinner #yum | Day 3 Today’s lunch: leftover flank steak and Brie cheese wrapped in Romaine.
But it’s been a week of just getting started for us. Jason is home because of the government furlough, which isn’t so fun to talk or think about. But what is fun is that this week my family adopted Molly, this sweet rescue pup. Her sandpaper tongue and tell-all eyes have already won her way into our hearts. And we’re excited to have a furry friend around the house again.

So tell me, what have you been up to this week?
I need to start watching my sugar again. I’m usually pretty good at avoiding white sugars (bread, pasta) and baked goods/ice cream. Lately I’ve noticed I’m eating cookies and bread more often. I’m blaming my husband and his sweet tooth. Will you stick with it after the month? Or are you counting the days til it’s over? P.S. You’re new pup is cute! I’m happy you rescued 😉

It’s a hard thing to keep control of, Miya, for sure. After the 30 Days I’m going to try to carefully watch my intake, but not be quite so strict. I am missing fruit as much as I miss chocolate.
And thanks for the puppy love. I’ve never rescued before, and this was certainly a really good experience for everyone!
