These 30 Days | Simply Fit

07/01/12

Remember back when I told you I was couch? Yep. I still am. My knees have heeled, but I lost any motivation and health benefit my Running 30 Days gave me, and I’m so so couch. And I hate where I am. I’m tired all the time. I don’t sleep all that well, and I don’t like the way I look in or out of clothes. All that means that it’s time for a change. A big, positive change. But the complicated and conflicting and overwhelming amount of information out there holds me back. (Well, if I’m honest, some of what’s holding me back is laziness too. And my actual couch.)

So for These 30 Days I will work to get up and change my habits and my lifestyle in order to get fit. But I’m not going to get all fancy and join the gym or hire a trainer. Let’s be real here. I have two young kids and I hardly find time to clean the house or shower. I am going to do my best to simplify the process. To work out from home, with the kids if I have to. To make the shopping and the cooking and the all that goes with shaping up easier for me. And of course you’ll hear all about it.

Let’s do this together! Starting this month, you can link your own blog or site and share your 30 Days. You don’t have to work on getting fit, but what 30 Days are you working on right now? What goals do you have for the month of July? Are you going to eat more vegetables? save extra money? find the perfect preschool for your toddler? try 20 new recipes? seek out the perfect after work bar? It can be any goal you’ve set for yourself. Let’s share our adventures to motivate each other as we work toward our goals.

You’ll have opportunities each week throughout the month to link up again and share your struggles and celebrate your successes. I’m excited to see what you all are up to.

I don't keep my blog anymore, but today I started getting back into my mojo too. I took my very first Zumba class today and wore myself out (but loved it). Good for you, Anna! Remember, just keep swimming swimming swimming!

Ahh. Golden advice. Thanks so much for the reminder. Zumba sounds scary to me, but I lack the coordination. But I do need to get back on the bridge. The double stroller is just so much harder to push. 😉

I was taking Zumba classes, which I loved, but the building doesn't have air conditioning so they stop for the summer. Trust me you don't have to be coordinated just have fun with it.I look forward to the fall when they start up again. In the meantime I am going to start walking on my new treadmill, just hope I can be disciplined enough to do it on a regular basis!

I'll have to look into Zumba. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Good luck with your walking. I'm learning if I schedule my exercise at the same time every day, then I'm more likely to do it.

Hi! I saw your link in Sharefest and was intrigued. I'm started a 30 day challenge today (actually it's 32) before I go on vacation. One of my goals, 10 push ups a day, is a mini-goal to work up to 100 push ups in one month.

Your goals sound great! Keep it up.

Thanks C! I love your push up goal. Have you see the apps that help you build up to 100 push ups? I admit I'm intimidated by them, but what an awesome goal!
