All week, I’ve been paying close attention to everything in my life that I have and everything in my life that I have to be grateful for. This week, I’ve been sharing those things on Facebook and Twitter as part of my own personal Gratitude Adjustment. And very simply, here is what I’ve realized: I have so much to be grateful for, so many blessings in my life that I take for granted. I should’ve been paying closer attention all along because this week has opened my eyes.
All week long, I felt like I was moving slower, opening my eyes wider, and noticing things I typically overlook. Folding clothes for Max that my brother and sister-in-law sent, I was so grateful for the hand-me-downs, so grateful that my family wanted to share them, and even more blessed that my sweet nephew, whose clothes they were, is a part of my life. And as I sat in the dentist chair, which I usually cuss and dread, I felt thankful that I have access to healthcare and my healthy smile. I noticed the weather, the food I eat, my pet, where I live, perfect moments with my children, beautiful and long evenings, and more. Each moment was another to appreciate my life and everything that I have.
Life is so much sweeter when you know what all you have. When I wrote about having a life full of gratitude earlier in these 30 Days, Kathy commented “Feeling blessed means KNOWING your life is blessed.” And she’s right. Recording all my blessings has only amplified those feelings in me. And that makes my every day so sweet.
Love this Inspiration on Life Pulp today. It was posted by Megami Hinata, and it speaks to my love of action and getting something done.
