Sunday Photography | Arizona

As promised, here are some photos I took in Arizona while hiking up a mountain in the desert. Where I live in South Carolina, everything is emerald green. And plants grow like in the jungle. The desert was a stark contrast, and cactus are really cool, even more so when they’re blooming. I don’t know if I could live somewhere as sparse and dry, but it certainly was an amazing space to visit. Plus, my shutter finger was very happy. See?

So tell me: what type of landscape do you prefer: lush green or stark simplicity? Dramatic mountains or wide flat horizons?

I am a fan of lush grass, but these pictures make the desert look so peaceful and calm! Is it really super hot in deserts all the time like the movies portray or does it get cold sometimes?

I think in the winter it can get cool, especially at night time. It did snow in Phoenix this year, which is an amazing, never-happens kind of thing. But I’m with you Britton, I like lush and green.
