Today is an off day for me, and the kids and I went to a fall festival where Julia had her face painted and Max hung out in the stroller. It was nice, but now I’m home and thinking forward to a new week of running. I love to read about how others do it: where do they find their inspiration and motivation? what works best for them?
I found Haute Running Mama‘s blog the other day and woah! She comes from a family of runners and is clearly passionate about competing in and finishing some amazing (and long) races. I love that her first race was a half marathon. (That makes me feel inadequate and inspired at the same time.)
But, what I really want to share is her ab work out. “A strong core means my chances of injury are reduced,” she writes. “A strong core supports my spine meaning a strong back! A strong core helps to stabilize my abs (trans abs and obliques), glutes and pelvis which helps me to run more efficiently (or so I hope).”
After a C-section, my core and abs are begging for attention and training, and if I could do a third of her ab workout I’d be well on my way (and probably very sore).
(I couldn’t not share this!)
