I just looked up “Small Closet Organize” on Pinterest. What I saw was not encouraging. All of those “small” closets were the size of my bathroom, at least. And ones that were about the same size as my closet had been transformed to office spaces or were only used for shoes. They certainly weren’t used for two people. But I’m not giving up hope. I’ve been putting the closet organization off all month long, but I don’t have any more excuses. This closet needs help, needs reshaping, cleaning out, and bettering. I need it to be useful and usable. I know that the fact my husband and I share the space is part of the problem. And while neither one of us are clothes horses, and while we’ve done what we can to make it work with shelves and extra hanging space, it’s still too full and beyond cluttered.
To say my space is limited is an understatement. I have the hanging space I marked in the photo and two shelves in the middle for my sweaters. But I have big plans. This weekend, I want to go in, clean out the clothes I don’t wear, and find some kind of order in this chaos. I just want to be able to find what I need so that getting dressed isn’t a chore. I don’t have a lot of space, but there has to be some way to use the space I have to my advantage. Right?
You are my accountability. So check back Monday to see the changes and improvements. I’m hoping it will be jaw-dropping dramatic.

Good luck! I too struggle with small closet organization… which is why TH (Thriving Husband) keeps his clothes in the guest bedroom….. oops, hehe.

Be careful. We lost our guest bedroom when our second baby was born. Before that, my husband’s clothes were in that closet too. I did a lot of cleaning out then. I guess 2 years later it’s time to clean out some more. Thanks for the luck. I’m going to need it.
