Some days I find myself wishing Molly would be at ease here in our family. I just want to say, “Make yourself at home, Molly.” But I know this is a slow process. I know that it takes time for a dog with a history like Molly’s to be comfortable in a new home. But this is her home, and I want Molly to feel at ease. So each day I watch as she makes herself a little more at home. (I almost cried a couple of weeks ago when she actually rolled over for me to rub her belly.) Some days she shows us new parts of her personality that are that are shining through as we learn more about each other. Some days are quite the surprise. And some days are just plain sweet. Really, does it get any better than Day 7?
Here’s what our week has looked like together: Day 1 It’s a brand new #30days. Meet Molly:” my inspiration and project for this month. | Day 2 Welcoming Molly home meant new bling. This is her tag and pretty purple collar. The color suits her. | Day 3 There isn’t much that Molly likes more than sunshine. | Day 4 The view from here. | Day 5 We are playing War with the kiddo combo. #MollyDog is on my team. | Day 6 She’s hiding under my desk. | Day 7 Reading time, because Molly like princess books as much as Julia.
We are loving the cooler weather here in Charleston. Isn’t this time of year just beautiful?
