Each morning I get three people up, brush three sets of teeth, make three breakfasts, put on three pairs of shoes, and . . . you get the idea. Mornings are busy over here, but a cup of coffee is my morning indulgence. It’s my moment that’s all for me. I wait to brew my cup until the kids are eating in their booster seats. I know they’re (typically) set for a few minutes. And I’m able to watch the Chinese maple out my kitchen window and take a moment to wake up all on my own. So, quite honestly, I really wasn’t willing to give up coffee for the month just because it’s not local. I know where coffee grows, and it’s not Charleston.
But lucky for me, Charleston Coffee Roasters makes coffee as local as possible.
By sourcing coffee beans farmed with sustainable practices and roasted here in the Lowcountry, Charleston Coffee Roasters has been labeled as a “Certified South Carolina Product.” And I’m not disappointed with the bag of Breakfast Blend I picked up the other day at the Piggly Wiggly. I don’t know how to talk coffee like a food critic (I would be embarrassed to try), but I do know when I like the flavor, and this tastes good. Plus, it’s given me the opportunity to be both local and indulgent, which is the best of both worlds.

Oh, lucky you! Good job on sourcing that locally, it's tough. I have a local roaster, but it's astronomically priced. So I settle for fair-trade, rainforest certified. (Yes, I'm a dork.)
I was surprised Charleston Coffee Roasters wasn't more expensive. It was comparable to other coffees. Good for you for at least being conscious of where your coffee is grown. I'd say you're in the minority.
