Pinterest Day 7 | My Yellow Board

Pinterest Inspired Yellow 1 Pinterest Day 7 | My Yellow Board

Here’s what is so great about Pinterest. It lets you collect things that you love that are all alike into one single visual space. And since I love love love the color yellow, I have a board dedicated to the color of sunshine and daffodils (and my logo). I don’t post a lot of curated content because writing my own posts is something I take great joy in, but flipping through my yellow board the other day, I couldn’t resist sharing some of the things I have pinned. It makes me smile just to see it.

So here are some of my very most favorite pins from my Yellow board. These aren’t my photos (well, Harper is below, but the rest are other people’s art), so I linked to the original source of the image (as best as I could find it) and to my pin. I really believe in giving credit where it’s due, so if I’ve used your photo and you’d rather I not, let me know. I’ll fix it. And if you want to see the all the yellow goodness on my Pinterest board, you can do that right here.

1 These yellow cushions on a four-poster bed are exactly what I’d love to do in my boring bedroom. (Here’s the pin) | 2 Jar full of Yellow would make a fabulous statement on an end table. How unique, right? (pin) | 3 These yellow shoes are so perfectly summertime against the mint background. (pin) | 4 Martha Stewart arranges her daffodils in a Tree Stump Planter, and I love the rustic-meets-delicate effect. (pin) | 5 Retro Yellow Pig Planter. Need I say more? (pin)

Yellow 2 Pinterest Day 7 | My Yellow Board

6 Tiny yellow lemon slice earrings are super cute and a simple way to add color. (pin) | 7 This yellow fridge is the kick ass focal point of the kitchen. I want one. (pin) | 8 Harper Lee was the best dog ever. Ever. And she was a yellow lab. (pin) | 9 This yellow veil is fashion perfection. (pin) | 10 Yellow flowers in blue cups. And this blog is in French, so I have no idea what it says, but it’s beautiful. (pin)

Out of all your Pinterest boards, which is your very favorite? Share the link here so we can all follow, and tell us what’s so great about it!

Sunday Photography No. 11

photo 1Revised Sunday Photography No. 11

You probably already know that I’m a sucker for yellow. This was part of Julia’s birthday decorations last Spring. It hangs from the ceiling fan in my den, and I love it so much I can’t take it down. This week was my birthday, so now I’m calling it a carry-over decoration, and it was fun to photograph, if only with my iPhone.

I love the shadow and light play here, and I think I’ll probably pull out my Nikon to shoot it in a more official way. Because everything feels more official with a Nikon in my hand.

What have you been photographing this week?

Twenty-six: Hooded

f: 5.6, SS 1/50, ISO 100, WB Shade, EC +.3

Any guesses what this is?
It’s the hood that is supposed to go on this hot rod but instead leans up against the garage because it isn’t the original hood and it doesn’t quite fit. So it was there when I stepped outside with my camera. And against the gray garage, the yellow was striking. (Can’t you tell I’m a fan of that color combination?) And when I got closer, the textures on this hood were amazing and comic book-esque. Pictures of the full hood didn’t quite do it justice, but in extreme detail, the color and shapes are beautiful.
