I could look at the designed quotes on Pinterest all day long. Is there anything more beautiful than images that match words to make the perfect impact? It makes my writer’s heart so so happy. Designed quotes are some of my very favorites that I repin on Pinterest, like this one from Tina Fey that is absolutely perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
“Say yes and you’ll figure it out afterwards.” -Tina Fey
I’m a worrier. That person who sweats the small stuff? That’s me. A million times over, that’s me. I worry about details, and specifics, and all those other things that a lot of people can gloss over. But it also means that I miss out on opportunities because when I’m making lists and planning the minutes of every chance in front of me, someone else says yes and pushes forward.
Someone else sees blue skies, open water, awesomeness while I have my back hunched and head down counting grains of sand.
It’s a control thing. And maybe a fear thing. But whatever it is, my lack of ability to Say Yes and my attempts to control what I can’t, holds me back, slows me down, and hurts my chances into my future.
But Tina Fey gets it. She’s all about diving in, clothes an all, into the seas of opportunity. Details, what details? They’ll figure themselves out, the goal is what’s important. It’s all about the future, it’s all about limitless possibility. It’s about what might happen.
What an amazing way to soar through life. What a fantastic way to approach challenges and opportunities, like there’s nothing not worth doing. And as Amid Life, where the image is pinned from, says “Why say no, what have you got to lose? Why say no and never find out?”
So Yes! A thousand times yes! And now let’s see where my life takes me.

See I am the other way around. I jump right in and then realized I should have thought of details and then stop and start making list and then backout. Yup. It sucks but realized that everytime I jump into something I tend to jump back out. Oh well.

It’s interesting to hear the other side of the equation, Cody. And at least you’re trying and learning! There’s gotta be balance for us there somewhere, right?
I really needed to read this today. I’ve been fumbling over minor details and it’s kept me paralyzed this week. Thank you!
I’m so glad, Miya! I know that fumbling, busy doing nothing feeling. But whatever it is, go with your gut and trust yourself!
Yes, yes, yes!! I’m absolutely the same way…worry before anything even happens. Thinking 8 steps ahead. Afraid to commit because “what if…” It’s exhausting. I find I’m trying to lean outside my comfort zone. Saying yes to things because WHY THE HELL NOT?! What’s there to lose? Nothing. Hugs, friend. YOU ARE AWESOME!

Exactly. Why The Hell Not?
Let’s jump into Yes together! We’ll hold hands and then it won’t be quite so scary or worrisome. 🙂
Hugs right back to you! <3
A little word can unlock many new opportunities!
