Do you use Pinterest on Mobile Devices like your phone or tablet? Yeah, I do too. But I can’t say that it’s all easy peasy lemon squeesy, especially when it comes to pinning new things from the any site you’re on. It’s so frustrating. But your frustration is over here and now, because Jessica from Chaos & Love has the answer. And today she’s sharing her how to with simple instructions. Read on!
I’ve mentioned Jessica from Chaos & Love before. She gave me the idea for my 30 Days of Different Outfits, and she was the genius who first told me of buttered coffee. Everyone needs a friend like Jess. Not joking. She’s a super boy-mother, a talented crocheter, an Avon walker, and a paleo baker. And she covers a little bit of all of that and then some on her blog, Chaos & Love. And she sells some awesome things in her Etsy store (Seriously, what toddler doesn’t need a Viking hat?) Today she’s sharing her tech know-how with us all.
Super excited to have been invited to hang out over here at In the Next 30 Days today! Anna and this blog are such an inspiration to me. Since I’ve been too overwhelmed by life to get Pinterest-y this month, I thought I’d give ya’ll the short version of my favorite ever mobile Pinterest tip instead. I hope you find it as useful as have!
If you regularly use Pinterest on your mobile device, you will likely be familiar with my number one frustration with the Pinterest apps - there’s no way to create new pins (unless you want to pin random photos of things, which I generally do not). Some bloggers add a handy Pin It button to their posts which seems like an easy enough solution, but those can be buggy on mobile devices plus they aren’t every where.
Because I really love the ease of the Pinterest bookmarklet in the browser on my laptop, I searched far and wide to find a way to pin things that same way on my mobile devices and finally landed on what I think is the best all-around option. These instructions will work using both an iOS device and an Android. Follow them to install the bookmarklet and you’ll be pinning from your mobile device in no time! Which is awesome because who doesn’t need to waste spend more time on Pinterest, right?
1. Create a new bookmark in the browser on your mobile device. Any bookmark will do because you’re going to edit it.
2. Open the bookmark for editing. Change the name to something clever like “Pin it!”.
3. In the address field, you want to add the code for the bookmarklet which is in the text box below.
4. Save the edited bookmark and you’re done!
1. Find something on the interwebs that you want to pin.
2. Navigate to and select your Pin It! bookmarklet.
3. Proceed with pinning the webpage as you would on a non-mobile device.
And that’s all there is to it, friends. Oh! Bonus! If you have your bookmarks set to sync across devices, you should only need to follow these steps once. Love that part!
I told you easy, right? So what will you pin first? And what will you read first on Jessica’s Chaos & Love? You should check out the work she’s doing to support the Gay Dad Project. Her I <3 The Gay Day Project coffee sleeves are available in her Etsy shop, and proceeds go to the Gay Day Project. And even though it’s not gluten free, or even totally healthy, OMG this Hot Dog Mac and Cheese sounds delicious.
