It’s kind of time to flex some different life muscles, don’t you think? Last month was such a mental challenge, so internally focused, that I thought this month I might try something hands-on, busy, outward, and creative. So I’m starting 30 Days of Pinterest.
I’m sure you’re already on the 3rd largest social media platform, but if not, then you can check it out at Pinterest.com. It’s a space to share like Facebook or Twitter, but it’s visually focused using mostly images. For this reason, it’s kind of the go-to place when you need a recipe, want to craft anything, or just want to see beautiful, beautiful things.
And it can be a time suck.
Jump on Pinterest to find a chicken recipe for dinner, and 45 minutes later you find yourself searching for the the very best way to decorate your home for a Halloween party you didn’t know you were having.
You see, everything is deliciously beautiful on Pinterest. Everything. And it makes me want to paint my living room, bake a four-course meal for dinner every night while simultaneously crafting with the kids and getting an ab workout. I know this isn’t possible. Really I do. But Pinterest brings out the side of me that wants to do all the things. And do them now.
So I’ve given myself 30 Days to Pinterest-it-up. I’ve invited a couple of friends over to try out some pins and let you know how they go, if they’re possible or even worthwhile. I’m gong to get to know the Martha Stewart of social media a little better and share all I learn with you. Plus I’m going to add some of my own pins to the Pinterest universe.
I’ve set up a board for my 30 Days of Pinterest right here. Feel free to follow me or just the board. And here’s the beautiful thing: it’s a group board, so if you want to suggest pins for me to try out, then let me know what your Pinterest user name is (either in the comments here or you can e-mail me [email protected]), and I’ll add you to the board. Then you can fill it will all your fab suggestions or things you think I might should try out.
Fun, right?
Now tell me, what are you up to for these 30 Days?

Something tells me this is going to be the easiest 30 day challenge EVER.
Easy, really? I was thinking it’s would be a great hands-on style challenge of trying out pins and crafting and baking and learning all month long. Busy feels more like it to me. 😉
Okay, I had an idea in mind for the next 30 days but Pinterest seems so much easier. What exactly are you doing with it? Pinning stuff and sharing or actually making things every day?

Curious: What was your other challenge idea, Jackie? I don’t know that this one will be very easy. I tend to get in the middle of all these challenge and feel like there is so much more to them. Every. Time.
I’ll be trying out pins, creating pinnable content, learning more about how to use Pinterest well, you name it, I’ll be doing it. It’s going to be a busy month!
Oh, my love hate relationship with Pinterest! this will be interesting for sure.

Exactly, Amanda. That’s how I feel about Pinterest too. It’s easy to fall in love with such beautiful ideas, and at the same time it makes me want to pull my hair out because the projects never feel possible. Thanks for reading.
