Edisto Island Serpentarium | A Post in Pictures

Looking for some wildlife in the Lowcountry? The Edisto Island Serpentarium is the answer. Inside (and out) you’ll find a variety of venomous and non-venomous snakes, turtles, and alligators. Plus, there are opportunities to hold snakes and to see monstrous alligators being fed.

(Be warned, some of the snakes are kept in naturally styled enclosures, so they’re separated from visitors by careful landscaping and proximity. If you’re nervous about snakes, you might decide to focus on the lovely turtles instead. But in reality, you’re perfectly safe looking through trees and grasses to see the species of snakes the Serpentarium keeps.)
