So it’s not a Pulitzer or anything close, but I’m still tickled. You see, fellow blogger Sarah over at Sweet & Savory Life nominated me for some blogging awards– the One Lovely Blog Award and the Libster Award. I’m blushing, really. And since these 30 Days are all about me sharing with you, this felt like a fun place to start. But more than that, these cyberspace awards are all about connection–with my readers and with other bloggers, which is always an amazing thing. One Lovely Blog Award, Step 2 | Share 7 things about myself.
I have a weakness for English literature. Pride and Prejudice makes me cry tears of joy.
I’m convinced my house is haunted by a friendly ghost. It showed up in a photograph over Christmas, and every once in a while toys work on their own or doors slam.
I’m a quiet person, and a Friday night in with a glass of wine and a good movie is my idea of heaven.
I would love to get another dog, but I’m worried that the next dog we get won’t be Harper, and I won’t love her as much.
I’m so amazingly jealous of my friend’s craft room.
I am helpless at building with Legos. I feel sorry for my kids when they ask for help.
I am almost always in the shower until the hot water is gone. (In my defense, we have a small hot water heater.)

I hate hate hate grocery shopping. Hate it.
I don’t see my girlfriends very often since I’ve had kids, and that makes me so sad.
I am an eternal optimist, and I love to look for the good in people.
I could eat breakfast for every meal of every day for the rest of my life. Eggs, toast, coffee? Yes please.
Procrastination could be my middle name, but it’s not. My real middle name is McEwen.
I love Scotland and everyone in it.
I have a weakness for True Blood. Book or television show, it doesn’t matter.
I am originally from West Virginia, and I think it’s the most beautiful place on Earth.
Bubbly over still for most anything, but especially when it comes to wine.
I have this talent for memorizing song lyrics, any song, and I remember them forever.
I especially love musicals, and I sing along (loudly) when no one is around to hear.

What’s a smell that takes you back to childhood? Erno Laszlo skin care products. My mother used it, and it especially reminds me of when she would get ready to for a night out.
The mountains, or the sea? Can I have both? If I have to choose, probably the mountains.
Do you ever meditate? I try, but I can’t say I’m good at it.
What’s one electronic you can’t live without? My laptop. It’s a MacBook Pro. Her name is Sally.
Do you have a personal motto? I have a new one thanks to a recent yoga class: “Move toward your edge with intention and persistence.” Awesome, right?
How many states have you been to? Oh my, let me count. 38.
What’s your favorite dessert? Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. No doubt about it.
What is a movie that always makes you laugh? Animal House. Toga! Toga!
Do you believe that you’re creative? Yes! Yes! We are all creative, you just have to find out how.
Do you have a favorite season? Spring, and I’m so glad it’s here.
What’s your dream? To live with passion in everything I do. It’s so hard and takes constant awareness.
